The #RedGiants En Route To Bangkok For 2024 Pre-Season

The Selangor FC squad has travelled to Bangkok, Thailand for a preseason training camp in preparation for the league competition, which begins in May.

One of the main objectives of this preseason is to hold a friendly match with two clubs in Thailand to test the team's ability so far. In addition, 'team building' activities are also carried out to develop a better team spirit and get better relationships among players, officials and coaches before the league starts.

Safuwan Baharudin, midfielder and defender of Selangor FC hopes that this preseason training camp will help the team to see clearly the changes and improvements that need to be made to strengthen the team for this season.

"I'm sure all the players can't wait for the preseason session in Bangkok. This will be the first test for us as the team will be up against two Thai clubs who are currently active in their league. So, I believe their fitness level will certainly help us to measure in terms of endurance, technical and tactical abilities from the friendly match. At the same time it will help the coaches to make decisions in planning the system that we are going to use.

“Aside from that, I feel that this preseason is the best time for the team to get to know and understand each other better, to help us create greater teamwork when the Malaysian League starts later," Safuwan expected from the preseason in Bangkok.

In his fifth year with Gergasi Merah, the club he has served for the longest time, Safuwan wishes, "Personally, I feel like I owe Selangor FC. Therefore, I want to help the club qualify for the finals and lift the winning trophy before I think about the next chapter,”

"I hope this year I can play without any injuries. If I’m injury free and physically in good condition, I will definitely give 100 percent on the field with the hope I’ll be able to play in 80 percent of the matches for the 2024/2025 season." said Safuwan before ending the conversation with Selangor FC Media.

The management is hoping for a successful preseason in Bangkok, Thailand. Hopefully everyone in the squad will make the most of this opportunity to get the squad ready for the league before it starts. All the best, Red Giants!
